Slow Cooker Teriyaki Beef Recipe
There is no need to go to a Japanese Restaurant for Teriyaki Beef. This recipe is so easy to make at home!
The word Teriyaki is actually a combination of 2 Japanese words - "teri" and "yaki". "Teri" means luster while "yaki" means grill of broil.
Mirin is sweet rice wine and it adds luster to the ingredients. It is the essential ingredient for the sauce.
It's best to marinate the beef overnight. When you get home from work, remove the beef from the slow cooker and place under the broiler for 3 to 5 minutes.
Slow Cooker Teriyaki Beef Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 lb beef, sliced or cut into 1" cubes
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- salt for seasoning
DIRECTIONS:
- Season beef with some salt.
- Place beef in the slow cooker.
- Combine soy sauce through garlic.
- Pour over beef and marinate overnight.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours or on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or until beef is tender.
- Remove beef from slow cooker and place on a shallow pan.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of sauce over the meat.
- Place under the broiler for 3 to 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it or it'll burn!
- Serve with white rice and steamed vegetables.
